About The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom
Grab your family and escape the everyday to a place where thrilling drops are commonplace, where pirates host giant pool parties, and where Adirondack characters walk around in the real world. This is The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom, the home of some of upstate New York's most thrilling rollercoasters and water rides, all included in admission. Read on to discover just a few of the exciting attractions the theme park has to offer:
- The Steamin' Demon: From the 90-year-old Comet to the brand new Greezed Lightning, there's almost too many roller coasters to mention at The Great Escape, but the Steamin' Demon stands out for the crowd for one reason—virtual reality. You can experience the natural excitement of the park's first looping coaster au naturale, or strap on VR headsets after 2 p.m. and experience the real-life G-forces as a fighter pilot saving the city from an alien attack.
- Splashwater Kingdom: Thrillseekers can take a ride down a 132-foot tunnel on the Tornado which shoots riders through a large funnel at 35 feet per second. Those looking to relax can visit Capt’n Hook’s Adventure River to float through a slow-moving lazy river that winds through the park. Small children have access to the new Buccaneer Beach, where they can ride down mini water slides or splash around the water playground.
- Storytown: A perfect blend of the past and present, rambling history and thrilling fun, the Storytown section of the park has hosted a theme park since 1954. Hop aboard the real working diesel engine locomotive that circles Storytown, or enjoy such favorite spots like the Pink Whale and Little Houses.
