The Lost Colony
The Lost Colony tells the true story of the ill-fated settlement at Roanoke Island that mysteriously disappeared more than 400 years ago. No trace of 117 men, women, and children was left when a new group of colonists stumbled upon the original settlement, except for the word "Croatoan" carved into a post. From a script written by Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Green, a company of more than 100 actors, dancers, singers, and technicians conjures the colony's lost souls, Queen Elizabeth's court in full royal garb, and the indigenous Americans as they perform traditional dances. The show is at times sorrowful and joyous, depicting fierce battles, the birth of the first English child on American soil, and the frustrations of forwarding one's magazine subscriptions to the new world.
