About Watiki Indoor Water Park
The original WaTiki Indoor Water Park was a hit with South Dakotans right off the bat, drawing people from hours away to its action-packed facility. But then a 2013 expansion grew the park to 70,000 square feet, elevating it to an award-winning destination that—along with giant kazoos for the presidents on Mt. Rushmore—has contributed to the growing popularity of the Black Hills. The square footage is hardly the only impressive figure WaTiki boasts. Read more about this water park, by the numbers:
The park is so big, it takes up space in 2 different cities: Rapid City and Box Elder.
Temperatures are kept at 82 degrees Fahrenheit so the indoor park can stay open year-round.
Thanks to the trapdoor design of the vertical Banzai slide, riders hit speeds of 35 miles per hour.
A weight limit of 300 pounds on larger slides allows parents to get in on the fun.
There's more than water attractions—an arcade boasts 36 different games.
The onsite Sliders Bar & Grill even has 1 transparent water slide running through it, so parents can watch their kids having fun while sipping drinks at the bar.
