Travel back in time as the Oregon Renaissance Faire brings the 16th-century Scottish village of Dunrose to merry olde life at the Clackamas County Event Center in Canby, with hundreds of costumed performers, artisan stalls and a full complement of giant turkey legs and other delicacies upon which to feast. From Mary, Queen of Scots and her knights to village minstrels and maidens, all manner of historically garbed characters will perform for thee and thy kin by jousting, juggling, jesting and much more, creating a magical world of music and entertainment. Mead, ale and cider will be available for purchase at The Cat and Fiddle Pub and the Kilted Stag Inn. Kids can ride a pony, a unicorn and a rocking horse, visit the face painter, laugh at a puppet show, dance with the jubilant fairies, adopt a baby dragon to take home, win prizes and snack on treats like ice cream and root beer. There's even a Toddler Tower with a shaded changing table, play space with blocks and a rocking chair for nursing mothers. The weekend's themes are Myths & Legends, at which you may stumble across spirtes and a troll or two, and Celtic Celebration, a salute to all things Scotch-Irish.
