An Evening in Paris is the theme of the evening as CAAPA (Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts) hosts its annual gala, awards concert and silent auction at John Addison Concert Hall in Fort Washington's Harmony Hall Regional Arts Center. The non-profit arts organization is dedicated to "bringing color to the classics" -- that is, helping black classical musicians and others in the performing arts by offering financial assistance to artists, awarding youth scholarships, presenting master classes at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU's) and more. This year's gala will honor opera legends George Shirley, Carmen Balthrop and Regina McConnell. You'll also see performances by bassist Morris Robinson, soprano Brandie Sutton and tenor Chauncey Packer, along with concert pianist Dana Kristina-Joi Morgan.
