Get your fill of action and adventure at this double-feature screening courtesy of Shoreline Community College. Animated science-fiction action film The Iron Giant uses both comedy and drama to tell the tale of a young boy named Hogarth Hughes, who discovers a giant metallic robot that has fallen from space. With the help of beatnik artist Dean McCoppin, he attempts to prevent the U.S. military and Kent Mansley, a paranoid federal agent, from finding and destroying the Giant. This 1999 Warner Bros. film features the voices of Christopher McDonald, Jennifer Aniston, Harry Connick Jr., John Mahoney and Vin Diesel. Then it's a nod to straight-up female power. Wonder Woman opened in June and quickly became the fifth highest-grossing film of 2017. The film tells the story of Princess Diana (Gal Gadot), who grows up on the Amazon island of Themyscira. After she rescues downed American pilot Steve Trevor, he tells the Amazonians about the ongoing World War. Diana sets off to end the conflict, transforming into Wonder Woman in the process. The film also stars Chris Pine. Come to this double screening dressed as your favorite superhero and you'll receive a coupon for a free small popcorn at the door.
