Celebrating the heart of A.D. Players identity as a Christian organization, we’re proud to present the revelatory new play, Kingdom Undone, a beautiful and thrilling passion play about the arrest, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, told through the eyes of Judas Iscariot, his betrayer. Playing off of the widely accepted historical view that Judas was a member of the zealots, a Jewish rebellion meant to incite an uprising against Rome, playwright, Jeremiah Gamble, posits a dramatic retelling that centers Iscariot’s view of Jesus as a blood-shedding, conquering Messiah—one who would defeat Rome once and for all. But Judas’ short-sighted and vengeful understanding of the Savior would prove to be his own downfall. Mixing the contemporary with the ancient, Kingdom Undone is a stunning and powerful story that reminds us of the truly radical love and grace of Jesus Christ.
