About Golf Club of Estrella
Golf Club of Estrella, a Nicklaus–designed course and as such, it has a reputation to uphold. The course has absolutely no trouble living up to those expectations either: located 30 minutes west of downtown Phoenix, it unfurls across the master-planned community of Estrella, treating golfers to some of the best golf in the state. Here are some things to know about the club before you tee off:
Layout: The 18-hole, par 72 course stretches to 7,139 yards from the tips, but with seven tees per hole, it's accessible to just about everyone. The layout rises and falls with the contours of the land, leaving the local washes and hillsides perfectly in tact.
Accolades: Golfweek loves Estrella. The magazine consistently ranks it among the top courses in Arizona, and in 2015, it placed Estrella at #19 on its list of "America's Best Courses, State by State". Golf magazine has also named it one of the "Top Courses You Can Play."
Practice facilities: Before rounds, golfers can warm up at the two-tiered driving range, which offers sweeping views of the Sierra Estrella mountains. The practice area also features a pair of putting greens for short-game work.
Player's Grill & Patio: This onsite restaurant serves breakfast and lunch daily. It also hosts happy hours Monday through Thursday 4pm-7pm, and dinner on Friday and Saturday, and it caps off every evening with spectacular views of the Arizona sunset.
