Online Booking - Round of Golf at Coldwater Golf Club
Coldwater Golf Club, which runs through a housing development in Avondale, Arizona, has been a popular tee time ever since it opened in 2000. The friendly facility, located just off of I-10 about 15 miles west of Phoenix, enjoys a devoted following of West Valley golfers who return again and again to this highly playable, fun layout that provides excellent value. With four prudently spaced sets of tee markers, the course offers a manageable test from as short as 5,147 yards and as long as 6,758 yards. Unlike so many courses in the Valley of Phoenix that sit on flat ground, Coldwater Golf Club has the advantage of rambling on rolling terrain. Course architect Forest Richardson took full advantage in crafting a layout with elevated tee boxes, constantly moving fairways that meander up and down, and intriguing green complexes. Most of the fairways are wide with mounding at the margins that can help save shots from going into the desert or the housing lots that frame the playing corridors. While you ll face forced carries over desert from the various tee boxes at Coldwater Golf Club, they aren't onerous and once you reach the fairway the grass typically extends all the way to the green. The longer back nine ramps up the challenge a bit with more pronounced carries and elevation changes. Richardson inserted traditional bunkers sparingly. Areas of rough, gullies, and the desert represent the chief threats to par at Coldwater Golf Club. A couple of lakes add extra excitement to the game on two signature holes a short par 3 and the finishing hole. Coldwater Golf Club s varied, firm greens provide plenty of challenges. A few of the putting surfaces are very large and feature multiple pin positions that can be adventurous and lead to three-putts if you re not on the proper tier. Coldwater Golf Club boasts some nice mountain backdrops but you ll also see power lines paralleling fairways. The club s practice facilities include a driving range and two putting greens. The clubhouse features a pro shop and a snack bar/grill area. Make a tee time at Coldwater Golf Club to enjoy an affordable round on a fun layout that is in the vicinity of Phoenix International Raceway.
