Founded in the early 1930`s Revolution Park Golf Course (originally named Bonnie Brae Golf Course) was designed by the Corps of Engineers as an 18 hole layout. The golf course was later condensed to 9 holes and modified once again in the late 1970`s as interstate I-77 was developed. Nestled in beautiful maples, pines, and hardwoods, Revolution Park GC has been donned "Charlotte`s only 9-hole Country Club"! The 12 gentleman filing the suit, on behalf of all minorities, were granted the right to play Revolution Park in 1957 through a Supreme Court Ruling.Revolution Park GC was later dedicated to 9 gentlemen, each of whom made significant impacts on the course over time. The 9 holes now commemorate each of these individuals and are marked with their names in granite. A sign on the first tee was constructed to honor the first African American to tee off after the legal judgment was handed down from the Supreme Court.
