A popular tradition, the Sheepshearing Festival has been held every year since 1987, and once again you can bring the whole family for a day of fun farm activities at Waltham's historic Gore Place. The talented border collies of Wellscroft Farm will show off their herding abilities, and a professional will demonstrate the lost art of hand-shearing a sheep. In addition to the sheep-centric activities, there will also be crafters demonstrating historic skills like spinning, weaving and silversmithing, historic battle re-enactors and live music. Take home a souvenir from the crafts fair and keep yourself nourished throughout the day with a variety of food vendors. Children ages 12 and younger are free to enter!
