Our GAME Camps are designed with fun in mind! All campers sing and play every camp day and participate in our concert on the final day of camp. We provide all the instruments for each camper’s use, and each child gets a GAME t-shirt to perform in and keep!
GAME’s next camp is July 5-9, for 5-11 year olds. NOTE: the July camp may be paired with our am VBS (900-1130a). Pack a lunch and we'll keep the kids ALL DAY! There are more after-school/weekend camps scheduled throughout the school year. All camps are short-term, approx 5 sessions.
Campers are introduced to Singing, Handbells, and Ukulele. Exposure to the different vocal and instrumental sessions provides an interesting and varied music-making experience. Everyone has their favorite songs and workshops, and the campers are often surprised by which ensembles they liked the best!
Choir Singing – all campers sing in the choir, led by GAME’s Director, Dr. Lisa Elliott. We learn and perform fun music from a variety of styles and cultures. Like all of our GAME camp ensembles, the Choir is for kids of all singing levels and abilities. Beginners enjoy a fun introduction to singing melody and harmony, while more advanced singers have opportunities for solos or small group featured performing!
Handbells – our GAME handbell workshops are led by Dr. Marci Nuoffer or Sandra Youmans, children’s handbell experts in Las Vegas. Kids have fun learning to ring different kinds of melodies and chords together as a handbell choir. Playing bells and chimes is a unique experience, and a wonderful way to introduce music reading and music-making to children.
Ukulele – GAME’s popular ukulele classes are an excellent introduction to playing a guitar-like stringed instrument. Taught by CCSD elementary music specialists Jill Usry Taylor or Kathleen Platt, kids are introduced to the basics of following melodies with chord strumming. Other percussion instruments and singing are incorporated as students gain skills and confidence, making this an engaging musical experience!
GAME's Group Piano OR Voice Classes are ongoing, weekly 45 min Group Lessons, 4 lessons per month. A valuable, fun, and economical way to explore the study of music. We learn a lot from each other! Play or sing together in the group, and also individually. Taught by expert organist/pianist Amy Smith and GAMEs Director, singer Dr. Lisa Elliott.
