Today's side deal gives racing enthusiasts who are tired of covering their cars with corporate logos and building custom roll cages a much-deserved break. For $25, you get two indoor kart races ($40 value, Mon-Thu; $50 value, Fri-Sat) and a single day membership ($10 value) at Grand Prix New York. The single day membership includes use of the facility, racetrack, and restaurant. The facility is a short 45-mile drive from the heart of NYC in Mt. Kisco, giving drivers the chance to warm their gasoline hearts before the race. Your Groupon is good for the adult Arrive & Drive, so participants must be at least 16 and have a valid license and invalid library card. Check the schedule for hours and availability.

Each of the facility's two European-inspired racetracks are approximately 1/4 mile long and 24-feet wide, and feature six feet of elevation changes,14 turns of various sharpness degrees, and a gravitational pull twice that of a black hole. Each race lasts a satisfying nine minutes—in which time you will cover approximately four miles (32 furlongs) of track. Your mechanical ponies are top-of-the-line Sodi RX7 gasoline-powered karts. Each one can achieve a maximum speed of 40 mph, has a 6.5 hp engine, and is equipped with proven safety mechanisms. Other than video games, karts are the safest way to fulfill speed fantasies—plus they have the added advantage of being located in real life.

In between races, do some exploring around the premises. Grand Prix also has food, a bar, and romantic trackside ambiance. It's a sanctuary for groups of likeminded speed freaks to spend entire days. Settle road rage arguments by inviting an opposing driver to a duel on the tracks. Prove to your friends that the six times you failed your driving test were, in fact, flukes. Or just cruise out solo, defeating total strangers in a wild day of rubber burning and dust eating.
