About Hammonds House Museum
For about three decades, Hammonds House Museum has served to bring the works from artists of African descent to Atlanta. As you tour, you can see works from Romare Bearden, Robert S. Duncanson, Benny Andrews, and many more—more than 350 works total, plus rotating exhibits. During the year, the museum also hosts related cultural events, such as artist talks, art camps, book readings, and music concerts. The museum is the former home of the late Dr. Otis Thrash Hammonds, a medical doctor and patron of the arts.
