The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but to make it that far you have to be disguised as baked goods. Sneak yourself in with today's deal. For $10, you get $20 worth of baked goods and more at Heitzman Traditional Bakery & Deli. Each Groupon is redeemable at either the East End or downtown locations.

When unexpected sugar cravings hit, extinguish them promptly with one of Heitzman's cakes, starting at $25. Choose from the eye-watering butter kuchen or mouth-catching jam cakes, loaded with raisins, pecans, and the fresh-fruit jam (strawberry or blackberry) of your dreams. Breakfast items ranging from indulgent donuts ($1 each, $8.50 per dozen) to Danishes ($1.50 each, $12.50 per dozen) are made fresh daily. Due to popular demand, Heitzman's recently closed its doors and promptly reopened them the next day, emerging as a deli-wielding powerhouse still capable of confectionary domination. Now they proudly serve up carefully sliced deli sandwiches like a honey ham and swiss or pimento cheese ($5.99 each), or something hot like the black-bean ravioli with bread ($7.99). Though this Groupon is not valid toward Heitzman's bulk deli items, see today's side deal if you are interested in purchasing pasta salads, deli meats, and catering platters.

Heitzman's has been melting butter and the hearts of local Kentuckians for over 118 years. Now locals can celebrate this rich history by toasting cupcakes with each passing year.

Valid for dine-in or carry-out. Not valid for bulk deli items.

About Heitzman Traditional Bakery & Deli

The aromas of warming butter and sugar have called to mind the Heitzman legacy since 1891, when Jacob Heitzman baked and iced his first cake. It didn't take long for his airy desserts to build a fan base, one that grew each time the bakery added to the menu with new items, such as butter kuchen and strawberry whipped-cream cake.

Today, a full-scale deli joins the original baked goods at the Heitzman Traditional Bakery and Deli. On the sweet side of the shop, spice cakes burst with raisins, pecans, and fresh jam, protected from poking fingers by a caramel coating. Fresh-made pies, signature butter kuchens, and loaf cakes teem with fruits and nuts, and specialty cakes come in classic variations such as german chocolate and red velvet. The deli satisfies savory teeth with kettle-boiled bagels from Dooley's Bagels, as well as a selection of fresh soups and sandwiches. Salads bring together morsels of chicken, tuna, and fruit cut by hand, and catering trays carry turkey and ham dinners, box lunches, and casseroles to family meetings and business sing-alongs.
