Henry Art Gallery presents provocative exhibitions by a multi-national roster of emerging and mid-career artists. Known for taking risks, the Henry anticipates the conversations and opinions that will be important and relevant in the field. Located on the University of Washington campus, the Henry is a creative forum, bringing together a broad range of experiences and points of view, connecting new ideas in art to new ideas of all kinds. The Henry offers a wide range of public programs including artist lectures, curator talks, film screenings, workshops, and even meditation session that help encourage relaxation among the art. The first art museum in Washington State, the Henry was opened to the public in 1927. The Henry has shown international artists including Uta Barth, Ann Hamilton, Gary Hill, Maya Lin, Kiki Smith, and James Turrell, as well as significant and emerging artists from the Pacific Northwest.
