Hongry Kong's owners knew that baked pork chops over rice or curry fish balls were not as familiar to diners as kung pao chicken. They also knew that the Hong Kong–style food they grew up eating was just as good and wondered why they rarely found it in restaurants. They bonded so much over their shared love of Hong Kong dishes in high school that they decided to come together to share this cooking style with the masses. Today, the yellow-orange food truck emblazoned with their cartoon Kong mascot travels through the city, serving up signature plates and traditional street food. Black peppers and oysters infuse the Firecrackin' Pepper sauce, which douses meats or veggies and rice. The traditional egg tart can be more comforting than using chow mein noodles as a pillow, with variations such as coconut and pecan tarts, while iced milk tea cools palates.
