Located one hour away from the skyscrapers and concrete landscape of Toronto, Horseshoe Resort has served as a welcoming and luxuriant refuge for more than 50 years, regardless of the season. The surrounding Copeland Forest creates a haven for outdoor winter activities whenever the snow begins to fall, ensuring that there are ample opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, and other seasonal fun.

Alpine Trails

With as many as 29 different runs open—ranging from easy downhill trails for beginners to double-black-diamond routes for experts—the resort’s alpine courses cater to skiers and snowboarders. Chairlifts ferry guests above the slopes’ machine-groomed powder all day long, and some lifts even continue into the evening for nighttime thrill seekers. A number of the trails wind through the mountainside’s terrain park, which includes 20 different features for experienced visitors looking to challenge themselves a bit more.

Nordic Trails

The 40 kilometres of groomed cross-country skiing trails weave and wind their way out from the resort, giving guests of all ages an opportunity to savour the majestic forest surroundings. Although visitors can coast along these meticulously manicured courses and enjoy a brisk aerobic workout, traveling on the Nordic trails can also be a low-key escape into the snow-blanketed wilderness.

Tube Park

Combining the adrenaline surge of alpine skiing with the ease of sitting down, the resort’s winter adventure park includes five chutes that send inflatable tubes safely hurtling down a slope. Although riders must be at least 42 inches tall, there is no age limit to use the chutes. Each tube can only seat one person, but families and friends are encouraged grab hold of each other and enjoy the downhill rush as one large, amorphously connected group of tubes
