Discovered in 1953, pizza is the only food to have been eaten on the moon, blessed by a pope, and endorsed by Olympic marathoner Gezahegne Abera—the “triple crown” of food honors. With today’s Groupon, $5 gets you $12 worth of food and drinks at five HotBox Pizza locations in West Lafayette and the Indianapolis area. Named the Best Pizza at Purdue by the Exponent, HotBox prides itself on both its pies and its prodigious talent for long division.

The pies come in small (10”), large (14”), and extra large, “the American size,” (16”). The menu features several specialty pizzas, including the signature HotBox, a red pie with the dangerous double spicy pepperoni and banana peppers (small $10.26/medium $15.61/x-large $18.95). Other favorites include Big Al’s Fredo topped with chicken, roma tomatoes, fresh spinach, and banana peppers ($10.86/$16.07/$19.72), and the pesto mambo, with artichoke hearts, feta, fresh broccoli, and black olives ($10.86/$16.07/$19.72) (prices may vary slightly by location). If your pizza exists only in your mind, you can create your own pie by choosing the size, crust, sauce, toppings, surname, and optional accessories.

Whichever totally legal pizza you choose, save room in your knapsack or hollow shoe heel for the breadstix, with nacho cheese, pizza, ranch, or garlic sauce ($3.99). Unlike most undistinguished sticks made of wood, bread, or chop, The HotBox breadstix have reached the ultimate measure of success: they have their own nontraditional spelling, and also a holiday. Grab this deal and use it for dine-in, takeout, or delivery.

About HotBox Pizza (Corporate)

HotBox Pizza’s cooks adorn three varieties of hand-tossed dough canvases with six savory sauces, cheeses, and 26 toppings to create a menu of dine-in, takeout, and delivery pies. The signature HotBox combines double spicy pepperoni and banana peppers, and Big Al’s Fredo fights off pernicious poultry cravings with a combination of chicken, roma tomatoes, fresh spinach, and banana peppers. Aspiring pizza architects can blueprint their own pies by laying down traditional, thin, or multigrain foundations and selecting from six varieties of sauce-carpeting. Doughy disks simmer with mozzarella, ricotta, Wisconsin cheddar, or fontina cheeses to hold down up to four toppings such as pepperoni and artichoke hearts. Circle-eaters can also save room in their knapsacks or hollow shoe-heels for fresh salad and bundles of breadsticks that come with nacho-cheese, pizza, ranch, or garlic sauce, and wash down stubborn bites with refreshing slurps of soda.
