Holding a yoga pose builds strength, discipline, and immunity to motion-sensor devices. Experience the benefits of stillness with today's Groupon: for $35, you get a 10-class card at Hot Yoga at Sunrise in Fair Oaks (a $110 value).

Hot Yoga at Sunrise stretches, strengthens, and purifies bodies with four distinct 90-minute yoga classes performed in a 105-degree, 60% humidity room. Each stretch session is led by a member of the studio’s expert staff, whose instructors have more than 500 hours of combined yoga teaching experience. The workouts increase energy and trim fat, and the heat of the practice room conveys a bevy of benefits, warming muscles, preventing injury, helping to circulate blood throughout the body, and preventing delinquent snowmen from crashing classes.

Those looking for the classic hot-yoga experience can attend the Bikram class, moving through 26 distinct postures that stretch ligaments, tendons, and muscles in addition to stimulating the endocrine system and improving circulation. The ChiYoga class combines tai chi and Hatha yoga, focusing, like a ballerina fight club, on seamlessly combining strength and grace. Hot Yin Yoga holds deep stretches for long intervals, massaging organs to drain away impurities and stretching the connective tissue that runs through the dermis. In the Vinyasa flow class, students focus on building core strength with a series of slow and challenging poses designed to solidify balance and beef up muscles. Classes are offered every day; check the schedule to find the limb-limbering opportunities that best fit your itinerary.

Classes take place in an appropriately relaxing setting nestled inside a beautiful pagoda-style studio on the river. Pupils should bring one large towel and two smaller ones in addition to their own practice mats, and beginning benders who lack such accouterments can purchase the necessary items at the studio's store. After class, sweaty yogis can cleanse their bodies of exuded salt and impurities in the private outdoor shower, bathing beneath the open sky and jealous clouds who can only shower when space clouds rain.

About Hot Yoga at Sunrise

Seven days a week, students flock to the balmy studio to sweat out toxins and build strong, lean muscles in Hot Yoga At Sunrise's all-levels yoga classes. Each of the studio's passionate instructors specializes in specific yoga modalities, including the athletic Vinyasa flow, strengthening Core Power yoga, restorative Yin yoga—which emphasizes stillness and healing—and Bikram-inspired classes performed in sweat-inducing 105-degree heat to melt any snowmen trying to pass as humans. This hot-yoga style originally inspired owners Bobby and Robin Carpenter to open their studio in 2005, after they noticed that Bobby's running vastly improved with dedicated practice. Now, the two share their passion for the workout with others and practice it daily in their 60- to 90-minute sweat sessions.
