Though doctors' waiting rooms and elevators are renowned for their ear-pleasing tunes, they lack the acoustics necessary for bombastic audio appreciation. Relocate to a venue more suitable for enjoying symphonic mastery with today's Groupon, which gets you tickets to three performances by the Houston Symphony, whose concerts take place at Jones Hall in the Theater District.
Check here for specific performances and dates, then choose one of the following options, both of which offer seating in the orchestra section in either price level 2 or 3, based on availability:
- For $99, you get one orchestra-level ticket for three performances throughout the season (three total tickets, up to a $307 value).
- For $174, you get one pair of orchestra-level tickets for three performances throughout the season (six total tickets, up to a $614 value).
One of the country's most venerable performing arts organizations, the Houston Symphony lures listeners with approximately 170 performances each year. Today's deal gives buyers the choice of up to 11 different displays of artistic skill. Among the available performances is a soul-stirring interpretation of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade on April 8–10 featuring flutist Aralee Dorough, providing audiences an auricular retelling of the tale of the legendary Arabian princess who devised 1,001 pronunciations of the name Scheherazade. On April 21–23, melody seekers can also flock to performances of Rodgers and Hammerstein and More sung by Ashley Brown⎯a stage veteran who recently toured through Houston as Mary Poppins, a role she originated on Broadway. On May 19–22, famed cellist Alisa Weilerstein performs Dvorák's Cello Concerto with unbridled passion, masterful skill, and a cello. On May 27–29, Ellis Hall summons the spirit of his musical mentor for the Tribute to Ray Charles.
If you haven’t heard the sounds of a symphony in a while, today's Groupon is your chance to reunite your ears with the strings and woodwinds they've been pining for all this time. Upon hearing the orchestra's handiwork, listeners are known to refill their MP3 player with its symphography, overwriting the former library of auto-tuned instrumentation.
