8-hour basic pistol course teaches everything about how to own operate and maintain a pistol safely. This class is the first part of the concealed carry course, but does not have to include concealed carry.
The 16-hour concealed carry course, which consists of a two-day, eight-hour basic pistol course and an eight hour concealed carry course, which are both authorized by the Illinois State police to certify for the concealed carry license in Illinois and Florida.
The 8-hour concealed carry course is for the Illinois license to carry a concealed handgun. This course will only be available to those who meet the following prior training: NRA basic pistol course, NRA Personal protection in the home course, NRA personal protection outside the home course, active/reserve military, military veterans with DD-214, or retired military. Other training can be combined to meet the first 8-hour requirement, but this must be discussed with the instructor prior to taking the class.

About IL Gun Training and Concealed Carry
Richard Montgomery brings an impressive resume onto the firing range. IL Gun Training's resident instructor spent eight years serving with the US Marine Corps Crash Fire Rescue teams, and he also has a background participating in firearms competitions. With those skills, Mr. Montgomery works with people of all levels in concealed-carry courses as well as NRA classes, the latter of which can focus on pistols, shotguns, rifles, or personal protection. And for a change of pace, IL Gun Training also hosts wilderness and survival training seminars.
