Today’s Groupon sides sizable sips and savories with views of the rustic La Mansion hotel. For $15, you’ll get $30 worth of contemporary Mexican tastes at the San Antonio outpost of Iron Cactus, an established eatery featuring more than 80 types of tequila and an army of cactus-shaped iron automatons waiting to delight diners with impressions of former President Abraham Lincoln's house slippers.
A simple, made-from-scratch recipe is the secret to Iron Cactus’s famed margaritas. Swirl a frozen original ($5.25 small, $7.50 regular) with Beso Del Sol Purees for an additional $.50 (try coconut or another fruity flavor), or upgrade to El Agave made with Margaritaville Silver and Cointreau ($8.75). If you're buzzed just trying to decide, opt for a Tequila Flight, such as the Reposado selection ($9.75), featuring Cuervo Tradicional, El Tesoro, and Don Julio.
Start the eating portion off with tapas y botanas such as the chile con queso, a melty mix of white cheese, green chiles, pico de gallo, and jalapeno peppers ($5.95). Dinner options include fajitas, enchiladas, and a packed burrito Carlito ($11.95).
The Riverwalk location features a private patio and the swanky Agave Room bar (click here to see views of the entire space). An appetite-inducing tortilla scent greets guests upon arrival. The stunning salsa sanctuary's Agave Bar has late weekend hours, and the restaurant is open seven days a week (click here to see hours).
This Groupon is not valid during happy hour, on New Year's Eve, or from February 12 through 14.

TripAdvisors give Iron Cactus an overall average rating of 3.5 stars:
- The chicken fajita nachos were GREAT! So was the salsa. Good service, and a mariachi band made the atmosphere great. Very romantic and trendy. – gina6981, TripAdvisor
- On the River Walk, downstairs from the Aztec, I ate there twice: once for lunch, once for dinner with my husband-- and fantastic food both times. – karfras, TripAdvisor
- We ordered the fajitas for two. The meat was cooked perfectly and had a good flavor. The portion was very generous, we stored it in our hotel fridge and ate on it for three days. – bholt9359, TripAdvisor
