Q&A with the Owner

When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
Our family restored a long time abandoned farm originally founded in 1887, to become Michigan’s first and only full line distillery where state-of-the-art spirits production and farming combine with our end destination venue to attract four-season visitors from across Michigan and the Great Lakes.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
Iron Fish Distillery creates distinctively distilled and hand produced and bottled whiskeys, vodkas, gins, rums and specialty liquors. Every step of the process is done by hand on our 119 acre, environmentally certified farm.

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn’t cover?
The process of changing the physical state of grain (growing and harvesting), mashing, fermenting and distilling will be on full display for visitors and customers, as Iron Fish Distillery hand crafts the end product into spirits, warehouses its own casks, bottles its own products, and serves samples, and sells mixed drinks and end products on the premises.
