Jack’s Surf Lessons and Board Rentals is a locally owned and operated family business that exists to enrich peoples lives. We have a passion for helping people find enjoyment and leisure out on the water. We eat, sleep and breathe surf! Let us show you what we love. Come surf with us!
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
The inspiration for me was to be able to do something I love doing. My mom always encouraged me with the saying “if you do what you love you will never work a day in your life.” Well here I am, 23, and trying to avoid work and chase a dream. So far so good. ;) Can’t believe I get paid for this.
What do you love most about your job?
The best part of my job is definitely seeing people catch their first wave. Everyday tons of new people are coming to us and trying this surf thing out. I’ve probably taught a couple thousand people how to surf, so thats a couple thousand ear to ear smiles that will never leave my mind. I love it.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
I get feedback all the time from people telling me that their experience with us was the highlight of their family’s vacation. My favorite is teaching people with low self esteem who think they can’t do it only to find out they are a rock star surfer. I love seeing people crack out of their shell.
