- Restrictions for surgery would be: -bleeding disorder -prescribed blood thinners, anticoagulants (need 2 weeks off pre, 1 month off post) -Active HIV/HEP -C -smoker- no lift, maybe implants, stop for a month and have negative nicotine test -Adverse Event from anesthesia (“Have you had a bad reaction to anesthesia?“) Examples: MI, Stroke, Cardiac arrest -Experiences Shortness of breath or chest pain when waking 1 city block or 1 flight of stairs. (cannot tolerate 4 METS). -Some Immunosuppresants (Chemo, Strong Arthritis meds like methotrexate, patients on transplant anti-rejection meds)
