The Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit hosts dozens of events throughout the year open to the entire community, celebrating everything from literature to zombies. During the spring, for instance, the center's staff organizes an annual music festival and Jewish film festival. Come fall, the organizers make cozying up by a fire all the more enticing with a reading list from their book fair, or they encourage people to gett a lungful of crisp, fresh air while outracing spooky zombies. The center isn't entirely dedicated to special events, of course; it also hosts year-round child-development programs, fitness classes for adults, and gatherings geared toward senior citizens.
