Professional racecar drivers have long gathered in teahouses and tapas restaurants to devise an eco-friendly approach to racing. Today’s Groupon finds a way: four Arrive & Drive races (a $80 value), one additional race on your birthday (a $20 value), and a one-year racing license (a $5.95 value) at K1 Speed, all for $50. This Groupon can be used on a day at the electric-car racetrack at K1 Speed's facilities in Irvine, Anaheim, Ontario, or Gardena.
Indoor go-karting combines the rush of real-life racing with the charm of low-emissions technology and the safety of state-required safety measures. With electric karts and 1/3 miles of fast concrete, K1 Speed lets you embrace your inner speed-demon without fear of pedestrian casualties, carbon emissions, or trips to speed-heck.
K1 Speed also uses a ProScore system to gauge your skills against friends, Nintendo characters, and imaginary racers who take the form of childhood enemies. So bring along a few of your greenest buddies and treat them to a tall glass of your own rubber.
Note: This Groupon can be used by one or two people; if the Groupon is split between two racers, the second person must pay for a second one-year license.

- Very cool experience. I was a little scared at first but after a few laps got the hang of it. You are very safe with seat belt helmet and the carts are very safe too. Great event for groups. – Rabold10, Citysearch
- Best indoor racing around. Very realistic racing pit atmosphere. Great staff. Family fun. A snack bar with plenty of goods and refreshments. a game room with some hot video games and air hockey. – cineguerrilla, Citysearch
Detective Speed, P.I.
This TV season, be sure to check out surefire hit, Detective Speed, P.I. This race-themed action-adventure stars JP McDale as professional racecar driver and amateur detective Thom Speed: He Drives Fast, He Loves Fast, He Solves Mysteries at a Reasonable Pace Considering Mystery Solving Is a Hobby. Here are the synopses of the first three episodes:
Episode One, “Fast As Speed”: Thom expects to win the Pepsi Very Berry Fruit-Flavored Carbonated Energy Beverage 500, but he doesn’t expect racing teammate Neal to turn up dead. Thom knows the racing scene in a way the police never could, so he investigates the only way he knows how: inelegantly. Along the way, he fights (and flirts!) with lady policewoman Alexandra.
Episode Two, “Mystery at 100 mph”: After placing third in the Virginia’s Best 5-Hour Energy Cigarette Night Race, Thom is called to a meeting with his unforgiving owner, Mr. Clement. When Thom arrives, Clement is dead, and instead of calling the police, Thom investigates on his own for a while before calling the police. By chance, Thom catches the real killer and the sexual tension between he and that lady cop drives America insane.
Episode Three, “Tire Tracks”: During a photo shoot for his sponsor, Budler Low Calorie Energy-cohol, Thom’s photographer turns up dead. Thom citizen-arrests his first suspect, then drives a race car to make love with attractive female law officer Alexandra. Eventually, Thom forgets about the photographer’s murder.
