About Katar River Restaurant & Bakery

It's all about tradition at Katar River Restaurant & Bakery. The Ethiopian restaurant serves a wide variety of vegetarian and meat dishes, from the misir wot, a lentil stew cooked with onions and garlic in a spicy red pepper sauce, to the popular beef dish bozena shiro, in which chickpeas and split peas powder is made into a sauce cooked with onion, garlic, and spiced Ethiopian butter. And for those who want to try a little bit of everything, the menu features different combination options, like the Katar Ultimate Combo, a collection of eight popular meat and vegetarian dishes served traditionally on a large platter of freshly-baked injera.

But tradition doesn't stop there: on select days, one of the servers performs the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony, in which the beans are pan-roasted, ground, brewed, and served as complimentary drinks to customers, with the aroma mingling with the scent of burning incense.
