Impress the audience members of your life with today's deal. For $50, you get a one-day potter’s wheel workshop at Lakeside Pottery in Stamford (a $100 value, which includes class materials and a firing fee for one pot).
Lakeside Pottery offers ceramic art classes and workshops to inspire creativity and foster art appreciation in artists of all ages and skill levels. Learn basic clay handling skills and terra cotta soldier commands during a one-day potter’s wheel workshop as Lakeside’s friendly instructors demonstrate how to properly twirl the wheel in the hands-on lesson. No previous experience is required, but students are asked to bring a towel for clean up and a sponge-like imagination to soak up knowledge puddles. After the two-and-a-half-hour lesson, staff members will glaze ceramic masterpieces and immortalize them in the kiln’s fortifying flames. Classes are scheduled for Tuesday evenings starting at 7 p.m. Additional classes will take place from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on January 11, February 1, and February 15, and from 1-3:30 p.m. on January 16, January 30, and February 20. Each class is restricted to nine students and you must be age 15 years and older to participate.
