About Lakewood Ranch Acupuncture and Wellness

Amanda Carter, board-certified acupuncture physician, doctor of Oriental medicine, and founder of Lakewood Ranch Acupuncture and Wellness, didn’t always know she wanted to be a holistic physician. When she was 25 years old, she began having chronic headaches that led to depression, anxiety, and fatigue. She followed her doctor’s instructions and took prescribed medications, but her symptoms eventually resurfaced.

Amanda, frustrated, decided to take a different approach—she began studying nutrition and Chinese medicine and acupuncture, which successfully relieved her pain. Inspired by her caregivers and the positive results that their treatments produced, she decided to pursue a career path that would allow her to help others lead comfortable, pain-free lives without medications.

In her Bradenton office, Amanda aids her patients in overcoming insomnia, depression, anxiety, and a variety of other mental and physical ailments. Her specialties include acupuncture, nutritional counseling, homeopathy, and Chinese herbology.
