Eighty percent of America's cucumber crops go toward making pickles; the other 50% is distributed among spas for edible eye coverings. Harvest your senses with today's deal: for $60, you get $125 worth of services at Lantana Spa, located in the JW Marriott Resort. This Groupon is not valid on Labor Day weekend, and cannot be used for nail services.
Situated within the plush JW Marriott in the beautiful Cibolo Canyons community, Lantana Spa gives guests a taste of the Hill Country’s centuries-old healing culture with a gold-plated gauntlet of relaxing treatments. Sign up for a 50-minute Swedish massage ($125) and grunt with gusto as a trained therapist unties your knotted tissue threads. Or, choose to refinish your face with an active organic facial ($125) or a sugar cane refining facial ($125). After a Texas sunset body wrap ($130) or a chamomile body polish ($130), skin will be illuminated with a healthy glow, like a flaming multivitamin.
Lantana Spa’s interior first impresses the eye with a massive domed foyer framed in cream-colored brick. A staircase spiraling around a pendulous quartz sculpture leads to the 30 luxurious treatment rooms upstairs. The spa features other amenities, such as a private pool; a bistro where clients can purchase organic eats, herbs picked fresh from the resort’s garden, and fruit smoothies; and a boutique gift shop filled with products, sportswear, and fake Vonnegut tattoos for making literary roommates feel outmoded. Call ahead to schedule an appointment.
Reviews
Though there are not yet many reviews for Lantana Spa, it was featured in Modern Luxury. The Houston Chronicle reviewed the JW Marriott itself, and TripAdvisors give it an average of four owl eyes:
- In the soothing, persimmon-toned surroundings, stylishly imagined by Dallas’ own Forrest Perkins firm, it’s indeed hard to grasp the fact that reality lies just beyond the 26,000-square-foot, hacienda-like spa. – Connie Dufner, Stacy Girard, and Alison Miller, Modern Luxury
- Perhaps the most obvious theme is water, which is prevalent around the property in areas such as the 26,000-square-foot spa, golf courses, lobby and restaurant. – Kristin Finan, Chronicle
