Basketball has all the fast-paced action of soccer, but its much-smaller net is defended by five times as many people, so it's no wonder that all soccer has been permanently canceled. Celebrate the king of indoor sports with today's Groupon: for $95, you get one half-day of spring camp at Legarza Basketball Camp for boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grade (a $190 value). Camps are divided into morning sessions (8:15 a.m.–noon) and afternoon sessions (1:15 p.m.–5 p.m.). Choose from the following dates and locations:
- April 4–April 8 in San Mateo at Borel Middle School
- April 18–April 22 in San Carlos at Central Middle School
- April 25–April 29 in San Francisco at St. Brendan School

Run by Stanford University's coaches' education trainer Mike Legarza and boasting a camper return rate of 90%, Legarza Basketball Camp develops young dribblers in a structured environment of positive support and fundamental basketball instruction, valuing hard work and effort. Morning camps focus on shooting and ball handling, as orb-bouncers will learn the basics of scoring and protecting the basketball. Players will be divided into teams for the week and play one game per day with a tournament at the end of the week. Afternoon camps concentrate on gameplay, as youngsters will be introduced to gamesmanship and strategy, such as when to feed the ball to the 7-footer in the post and when to feed the ball to the siberian tiger spotting up for a three-pointer.
Legarza Basketball Camp is devoted to a teaching style that is "Bigger than Basketball," stressing learning and personal development. The camp's professionally trained and certified coaches use positive encouragement to let kids improve individual skills and teamwork at their own pace. Campers need to bring their own tennis shoes and shorts; they will receive a camp T-shirt, daily snack, written evaluation, and a tarot card reading with the price of the camp.
