Children dream of the day they'll graduate college, work their way up the corporate ladder, and save enough money to leave it all for a life surrounded by toys and games. LEGOLAND Discovery Center is a theme-park-esque world dedicated to colorful plastic blocks. See the city of Chicago made entirely of LEGOs at Miniland, or take the factory tour and learn how LEGO bricks are made (you get one LEGO-factory brick to take home). A green dragon will take you on a ride through a medieval castle full of moving characters made entirely of LEGOs, and hippos will keep you company along a jungle trail. In the Build & Test zone, you can build your own LEGO cars and buildings, then test them to see if they can withstand earthquakes, impress Burton Gilliam, or set speed records on LEGO roadways. Little ones can spend their energy and stimulate their giggle-plexes in the Physical Play area or on the Technicycle.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center also offers special events throughout the year. Visit during Labor Day to build a 10-foot-tall Clutch Powers. Or participate in Brick-or-Treat, complete with a costume contest, face painting, and a Brick-or-Treat trail. If you visit on Saturday or Sunday, it's best to go in the morning or late afternoon, when it's not as busy—you might have to wait to enter if there's a crowd. It usually takes about two hours to see all the attractions.
