The tumbling trainers at LKN Gym Academy spend a week flipping young gymnasts into top-notch tumblers with a range of kid friendly classes and instruction Monday–Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each camp day begins with a warm up, helping campers stretch cold muscles and prime pumping hearts to prevent injury and improve technique. After invading the safe, cushy confines of LKN’s studio, tumblers bound through a host of typical activities including stratospheric trampoline leaps, bumps through inflatable bounce houses, or floor-exercise interpretations of My Dinner With Andre. Between gymnastic feats, campers flex the right side of their brain with games, activities, and arts and crafts. Trainers keep camp camaraderie limber with team-builder exercises, obstacle courses, and open-gym time, where campers tumble at their leisure. Campers must come prepared for a day of fun, toting healthy food and water used for nutritious lunches or earning the trust of skittish pommel horses.
