Since 1985, Lone Star Oyster Bar has been serving up freshly shucked mollusks, a variety of fresh fish, and burgers piled high with condiments in a casual atmosphere replete with pool tables and nautical knickknacks. But Lone Star Oyster Bar's oysters aren't the only things chilling on ice. Its beer schooners and bar glasses arrive at tables frosted, ensuring that even an intense Texas heatwave won't spoil a good time. Local bands perform live music on the patio Wednesday​ through Saturday. A pool table and arcade games are available in the game room. The bar's exterior actually resembles a ship with its torn fishing nets and anchors dangling by the sign. And the curb features rope-strewn wooden posts that wouldn't look out of a place on a wharf.
