About Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library & Museum

The Museum at the LBJ Presidential Library brings visitors back to the 1960's to learn about Lyndon Johnson's Presidency and legacy. Conveniently located at The University of Texas campus, the museum is one of 14 presidential libraries administered by the National Archives. The permanent exhibition tells the story of Lyndon Johnson's childhood and 32-year career in politics. Among the exhibition's highlights are LBJ's post-presidential limousine, multiple phone banks where visitors can listen to LBJ's original telephone conversations, and the desk on which the historic Voting Rights Act of 1965 was signed. In addition to the Museum, the building houses the presidential archives, including more than 45 million pages of printed materials, over 650,000 photographs, and over 12,000 hours of audio recordings. On the way out, don't miss The Store at LBJ, which carries custom souvenirs and products relating to the museum's exhibits and the 1960's.
