Mad Monster Party celebrates horror, sci-fi, and fantasy at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel from Friday, June 13, through Sunday, June 15. Celebrity guests at this year’s event include Brad Dourif of The Lord of the Rings and Child’s Play, Gunnar Hansen of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Cassandra Peterson in character as Elvira. Most guests are scheduled for all three days of the event unless otherwise noted on the guest schedule.

Bikini-clad contestants strut in front of audiences. Ordained actors unite their fans in matrimony. The sleek, modern interior of a local hotel bears witness to these happenings during the three days of the annual Mad Monster Party. Created by filmmakers and co-editors of Mad Monster Magazine, the convention presents a celebration of horror films through celebrity guests, special events, vendors, and screenings.

Meet and greets let attendees shake hands and trade self-autographed head shots with storied sci-fi and horror actors, which in the past have included Ron Perlman and Bruce Campbell, alongside other celebrities, such as Kyle Turley and Peter Criss of Kiss. A costume contest and a Miss Mad Monster pageant reward winners with prizes.
