Owner Markus Nigg, a Swiss-born barber following in his father’s footsteps, presides over the old-fashioned décor and hair-trimming services central to M.E.N.S. Esquire. Upon arrival, the hypnotic spiral of an old-timey barber’s poll gives way to the sound of a bright red bell and a ragtime rendition of “Sweet Adeline” sung by a barbershop quartet of electric shavers. Razor-sharp shears whisk through excess strands during each cut, forging a close-cropped coif or trendy style catered to each the client’s style goals. The shop’s storied past unveils itself across the shop’s collection of old photos, and an eclectic mix of music—from blues to bluegrass—meanders over clients seated in antique green barber chairs. Gents can complement their new ‘do or prepare for a trip to a time-share condo at the O.K. Corral with a hot-lather shave for an added cost.
Though M.E.N.S. Esquire sometimes features a discounted price online, this Groupon still offers the best deal available.

About MENS Esquire Barbershop
Born in Switzerland and raised in Lichtenstein, Markus Nigg can remember sweeping up the hair in his dad's barbershop when he was only 5 years old. Following in his father's footsteps, Markus apprenticed as a barber, but instead of staying in Europe, he came to the United States and continued the tradition of the neighborhood barbershop. Now owner of M.E.N.S. Esquire, Markus keeps the shop as relaxed and welcoming as it was when it opened in 1928. A vintage-style barber pole spins just outside the entrance, and on the other side, an antique red bell announces each guest's arrival. As blues or rock plays on the radio, Markus and his three barbers stand ready by throwback chairs that cushion gents with green leather seats and sturdy metal frames. After visitors sit down, the barbers groom clients with haircuts, hot shaves, beard trims, mustache extensions, and neck cleanups.
