For more than six decades, Mike Libs and his team have been churning out hundreds of different delicacies, including creams, clusters, fudge, and the signature pecan Flipovers. A 10-ounce bag of mint wafers ($5.09) freshens the breath, sweetens the tongue, and serves as a stomach’s cologne, and a 14-ounce box of peanut brittle ($8.89) containing spanish peanuts coated in a buttery sugar mixture tempts taste buds. Take confections on the go with candy bars, such as the marshmallow-filled Hash bar ($1.89 each), the coconut bar ($2.29 each), and the chocolate-pecan bar ($2.79 each). The popular pecan Flipovers feed one’s taste sensors with Georgia pecans covered in soft caramel and coated in milk, dark, or white chocolate ($17.69 for 1 lb.).

About Mike Libs and the Chocolate Factory

Each day at his candy shop, Mike Libs combines sugar, cream, and butter in a vat before pouring the syrupy mix onto a steel slab and kneading it into fudge. He mastered this old-fashioned candy-making technique under the tutelage of his parents, who opened their chocolate store, Libs Chocolates, in downtown Evansville in 1950. Now at his own shop, Mike upholds his family's legacy by preparing classic treats such as peanut brittle, cream-filled chocolates, and pecan flip-overs (don’t call ‘em turtles!). Similarly, his sunlit storefront nabs motifs from his parents' candy shop, with red- and white-striped display cases to match servers' bright-red aprons.
