On occasion, whales surface near the hulls of Monterey Bay Sailing’s boats, eliciting oohs and ahhs from passengers aboard. On a more regular basis, dolphins, porpoises, and sea lions swim abreast the vessels, vying for attention and tins of sardines. These aquatic creatures represent just part of Monterey Bay's vibrant ecosystem—an ecosystem that has been lauded as the most bio-dense and bio-diverse on the U.S. Pacific coast. On daily bay sailing cruises, captain John navigates these waters while giving each passenger the chance to sail the boat. Monterey Bay Sailing is Monterey's only ASA-certified sailing school.They also offer their popular Introduction to Sailing Course, which teaches aspiring seafarers the basics of sailing and gets them familiar with common sailing equipment.
