What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
We are two former kindergarten teachers partnering to create a family martial-arts studio where the personal development of our students is foremost. Our curriculum is designed with the traditional five tenets of Taekwondo in mind, but is taught with the understanding of modern needs.

What’s one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
Everybody is nervous the first time, but our students quickly become friends. A major part of our philosophy is to firmly establish respect and rapport with peers. You should never hesitate to try anything new when in our classes.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Mountain Taekwondo was born out of a desire to create something that really had the potential to impact people in a positive way. Our mission is to give people skills that positively change their lives, all while contributing to the community in a meaningful way and teaching quality martial arts.

What do you love most about your job?
The changes our students go through are profound. We see them grow in confidence, physical conditioning, and self-respect. Everything our students learn with us can be applied to other interests—their jobs, school, or relationships—it all works together.
