IMAX screens are larger than normal movie screens, making it easier to count crumbs lodged in actors' beards and read articles in non-large print Reader's Digest issues. See a new level of detail in cinema with today's Groupon: for $5, you get one ticket to the Mugar Omni Theater at the Museum of Science (up to a $10 value) in Boston.
The Mugar Omni Theater showcases educational and entertaining films on a five-story-high IMAX Dome screen. The digital sound system feeds hungry ears, and eyes can focus on the sights of one of four inspiring movies, which wrap around viewers on the curved screen. Tornado Alley, chronicles the Discovery Channel's Sean Casey and his team of storm chasers as they pursue better scientific understanding of nature's land-traversing high-velocity wind machines. The theater has also recently screened vicarious adventure-image sequences such as Australia: Land Beyond Time, Mysteries of the Great Lakes, and the 1947 Oscar winner for Best Picture, Batman and Robin.
