Currently on view are Hardcore: A Century & a Half of Obscene Imagery, documenting 150 years of hardcore illustration, photography and film between 1821 (America's first obscenity trial) and 1972 (the release of Deep Throat), and Objectxxx: Artifacts of Sexuality, featuring historical items and ephemera (like an antique hand-powered vibrator from the Museum's permanent collection) alongside contemporary innovations. And don't miss Splendor in the Grass, an interactive art installation by world-renowned Studio Droog of Amsterdam that transforms the museum into an erotic campground, and the critically acclaimed exhibit, The Sex Lives of Animals, plus an eclectic mix of erotic art and realia in Spotlight on the Permanent Collection.
