About New Orleans Museum of Art

NOMA is New Orleans’ oldest fine arts institution and most ambitious cultural convener.
Size: When NOMA first opened in 1911, it displayed only 9 works of art. Their permanent collection has grown to over 40,000 works today.
Eye Catcher: The Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden surrounds the building. Situated on 11 acres, the diverse garden landscape including two lagoons and more than 90 sculptures, is hard to miss.
Permanent Mainstay: Pre-Columbian art and Native American art are on exhibit all year round.
