Adventurers race side by side past more than four miles of pine and deciduous trees, soaring at up to 50 miles per hour—600 feet above the ground. As they reach a treetop platform, guides wave them along onto a bridge that swings high above the mountain slopes from which they can see for miles. This nerve-racking scene is the norm at New York Zipline Adventures, where professionals lead guests flying through the woodlands and over the valleys of New York's Hunter Mountain. In addition to two distinct canopy tours, each testing adventurers' courage with swinging rope bridges and fast speeds, they also host a training school, which trains guests in the finer points of ziplining and proclaiming rightful thrones as the King of the Mountain. At the base, an adventure tower invites thrill seekers to climb a 60-foot spire and pass nine ascending obstacles such as a cargo net, rope bridge, log walk, and rappelling wall.
