NYC Snow Bus helps lighten the burden of transportation for the city's avid skiers and snowboarders. Operated by the same helpful folks as the NYC Beach Bus, the company switches focus in the winter months; then, their coaches fill with snow-loving passengers at five locations across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens and then schlep them to one of seven different resort destinations. • Whiteface Mountain: With the highest vertical drop in the east, Whiteface offers eastern skiing that compares with the peaks found out west. 87 trails. 500 total acres. A summit elevation of 4,867 feet.
• Windham Mountain: Five terrain parks, eight snowtubing lanes, and great night skiing make this resort a winter mainstay at the heart of the Catskills.
• Killington: Among Vermont's, and therefore the east's, most famous mountains, Killington offers serious size. The total skiable acreage spans 1,400 acres and the longest run is a whopping 6 miles in length.
• Mount Snow: The closest big mountain in Vermont, Snow is a great choice for anyone who loves parks and glades.
