Framed photos of Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, and Mariano Rivera loom larger than life, and an accent wall bears the signatures of no less than 86 baseball legends. It's not Yankee Stadium, but it doesn't feel too far off—it's NYY Steak, the midtown Manhattan outpost of an eatery born inside the Bronx Bombers' home.

Forget any preconceived notions of what a sports-themed restaurant is supposed to be: NYY Steak's atmosphere exudes the type of elegance you'd expect from a team that wears pinstripes into battle. Navy seats flank tables dressed in white linens, while the pristinely-plated cuisine arrives on plates stamped with the numbers of iconic Yankees players. Yet the refined presentation is not without playful touches, such as the home-plate-shaped dishes that cradle sides such as garlic mashed potatoes and button mushrooms.

Of course, the real star of the show is not NYY Steak's decor, but its menu of USDA Prime steaks. Specialities of the house include a 27-ounce long bone rib eye that honors the Yanks 27 World Series victories, the bone of which may be monogrammed for special occasions. Other sumptuous dishes include whole Maine lobster and short-rib ragu, all prepared by a culinary team overseen by a 14-year veteran of Delmonico's.
