Waterparks were created to prepare humans for oceanparks, which will be created when the moon destroys all amusement parks for its own amusement. Splash in the splendor of an existing water world with today's Groupon: for $13, you get a one-day admission pass to Ocean Breeze Waterpark (a $26 value after tax). Ocean Breeze is the only signature waterpark located in Virginia Beach, just two miles south of the oceanfront.
The waterpark's family-friendly layout is set up with 16 waterslides, a one-million-gallon wave pool, stately palm trees, a water playground, and water. The park's newest attractions, Pirates' Plummet and Walk the Plank, are covered/open-air 200-foot-long flowing slides that end with a 50-foot photo-worthy plunge into the depths of a pool below. Go tubular in the Runaway Bay Wave Pool or the whitewater Jungle Falls. The Hurricane, a swirling slide that is under rising pressure until a final drop dumps you in a pool, is the perfect place to test if sewing your passport into your appendix keeps it safe.
Ocean Breeze Waterpark also offers plenty of miniaturized attractions for guppies you might be chaperoning. These include an interactive pirate ship called Buccaneer Bay and the Little Amazon, a lazy river ideal for the lazy child wanting to practice his or her lazy sprawl, which will be perfected 15 years later somewhere in the abyss of the living-room couch. Hours of operation vary on the park's 2010 schedule, but doors are open every day from May 22 to September 12. Call ahead to make sure any leisure-time supplies you'd like to bring are allowed in the park.

- They had something for everyone, from the big wave pool, to the great selection of waterslides, it was amazing. I have to say, the water park isn't very big, but shows you some big fun! – A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/05/2008
- ...the atmosphere is great. I found the waterpark to be clean, and fun...We love to swim in the summer, and sometimes the waterpark beats a car full of sand from the beach. – DanetteR, Yahoo! Travel
