Experienced pilots guide guests on 17-mile journey over Florida coast that includes unobstructed views of Spanish fortresses & old downtown

For centuries humans have envied birds' innate ability to fly and to form eloquent arguments on the pros and cons of synthetic butter. Gain enviable abilities with today's Groupon: for $149, you get a Porpoise Point and Old Downtown helicopter tour for up to three people from Old City Helicopters, LLC in St. Augustine (up to a $255 value). Tours last about 30 minutes, which includes prep time, take-off, the flight itself, and landing.

Old City Helicopters, LLC employs local pilots and certified flight instructors with extensive civilian piloting experience to guide adventurous ground-dwellers on scenic, sky-high treks through the clouds above St. Augustine. Copters lift off like mind-boggled ostriches from the St. Augustine Airport, flying low and fast south over the Florida coast to Porpoise Point, then crossing the inlet to view the sights of Anastasia Island. Guests can enjoy unobstructed views from their window seats as they traverse about 17 miles of airspace, passing over the candy-striped St. Augustine Lighthouse and the Spanish 17th century Castillo de San Marcos fortress before fluttering west over St. Augustine's old downtown. After wingless tour-goers see the city sights, they swing north for a final scenic drift along the beach before returning to the St. Augustine Airport to high-five the Wright Brothers' ghosts.

About Old City Helicopters

Andres Kerllenevich began flying helicopters as a hobby while making a living as a lawyer. As time passed, he earned his license and left to fly tours over Alaska and New York City. He eventually settled in St. Augustine, the historical city where his wife fondly remembered vacationing as a child. Now, nine other FAA-certified pilots join him in leading tours over the coastal castles, historic lighthouses and colleges, and vibrant downtown areas of St. Augustine, Tampa, the Florida Keys, and Savannah, GA.

Pilots have also orchestrated aerial marriage proposals, during which the groom-to-be points out his question written on the beach or on a rooftop sign. The tours grant a bird's-eye view for photography and videography sessions.
